MELBOURNE’s queen of the Real Housewives Gina Liano has revealed her political ambitions.
Liano, who has conquered reality TV and established a career in law, has been urged by friends and fans to have a run at a political career.
And she is considering a future tilt.
“I suppose there are not a lot of people who have a public profile, who have entertained, who have that qualification (law) and have had the experience I have had in child protection and prosecuting for the last 17 years now,’’ Liano said.
“If I did do anything like that I would want to be in federal politics.
“It is really just a thought at this stage because I have been asked the question more than once.
“I would love to do something like that if I thought that I was capable enough, and had the time, and I could do it better than anyone else — not that I necessarily could, but I would have to feel that I could.’’
Liano said if she did make a move into politics it would be as an independent and shared several issues she was passionate about including supporting same sex marriage, finding a solution to homelessness, and highlighting animal welfare issues.
“(I’d) change aviation laws to allow pets to fly on domestic aircraft like in the US and Europe,’’ she said.
“I have puppies and I can’t take them anywhere with me.’’
Regarding large scale developments: ``I would like to see a trade off were they would have to invest (some money) in developing homes for homeless people to help people on the street.’’
The strongly opinionated reality star is planning a series of Audience With afternoons in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and Perth next year.
