Rafael Epstein is taking over from Virginia Trioli as host of mornings on ABC Radio Melbourne from September 18.
Trioli announced on Thursday that she would be stepping down from her position due to ongoing health issues in her family.
Epstein, who has hosted Drive for close to 12 years, said on air on Friday morning that he was up for a new challenge.
“It is a challenge in some ways because the expectations are higher, and it’s more of a platform,” he said.
“The question in my mind is: is it an evolution or a revolution from what I’ve done — and answering that will be the fun part.”
Epstein’s role in Drive will be filled by Ali Moore.
