Sharon Johal will proudly walk the Logies red carpet with her Neighbours family for the first time.
The show has received six nominations and Johal says it’s because the long-running soap isn’t afraid to cover important issues.
“I’ve only been on for three years but a number of different things have brought us back to general conversation,’’ she said.
“Things like the wedding celebrating gay marriage, a transgender storyline, we’re progressive and people are coming back to the show and realising its good quality television as well.
“The fact it has been going for so long is a credit to the show. It’s staying true to the Neighbours brand and there’s a lot more high drama with the PG rating, but still maintaining the family element.”
Johal, pictured at Mon Bijou penthouse at the Adelphi with make up by Tre Dallas, will be styled by Lana Wilkinson wearing Sonia Cappellazzo for Logies night.
“I’m really looking forward to celebrating Australia’s talent and seeing people getting recognition they deserve,’’ she said.
