Pia Miranda says she is proud to have withstood the criticism from her stint on Australian Survivor as it still sinks in that she emerged a winner.

Miranda has yet to receive her $500,000 prize, but she is relieved the pressure is off.

“I don’t have that (money) yet, it still feels like some weird thing in my mind that hasn’t become a reality,’’ Miranda told Confidential.

“I’ve done a couple of podcasts where I’ve talked about what it means to be a woman playing really hard on Survivor and how sometimes that can end with repercussions, but at the end of the day I played hard and played proudly and I can make my kids proud.”

Fans lashed out at the actor after her shock decision meant fan favourite Luke Toki was voted out.

He ended up with more money than her after a Go Fund Me page was set up.

“I spoke to him the other day and he’s really stoked,’’ Miranda said.

“In America the fan favourite gets a cash prize and here they don’t do that so it felt really right he got something.

“That (backlash) was really weird for me because there were three of us who voted him out and I was the only one really who copped any negative stuff and hate, so it was a real eye opener.
