This quintessential Aussie concoction takes the cake — or cookie.
Melbourne brewer Moon Dog has dared to combine the flavour of Tim Tams biscuits and beer.
“The approach we like to take is, making it inclusive, fun, interactive, and making it a little bit less about the beer and more about the enjoyment and experience,” the brewery’s innovation and product development manager, Dave Langlands, said.
“The Tim Tam Slam is something that’s so Australian and fun.”
The beer, which “took a few trials,” contains cacao for chocolate flavours, malts for biscuit taste and aroma, and sugar for creaminess.
Mr Langlands said the beer, named the Timothy Tamothy Slamothy, should be consumed through a Tim Tam.
“It’s pretty ridiculous,” he said laughing. “We want to make this beer attractive to a wide range of people and do it through familiar, nostalgic flavours.”
The beer launches at Moon Dog in Abbotsford and Preston on Thursday.
The Abbotsford venue is running a contest on Friday to find the best Tim Tam slammer.
