HER biopic got slammed but that’s just academic to Aussie superstar Olivia Newton-John.
As the haters unleashed on Channel 7’s Hopelessly Devoted To You, its subject — who had nothing to do with the miniseries — was busy receiving an honorary doctorate from Melbourne’s La Trobe University.
Newtown-John was recognised for her significant support of cancer research and holistic health.
“It’s truly an honour,” Newton-John said.
“I know my family of academics would have been proud.”
The 69-year-old Grease star was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, which returned last year. However, Newton-John said yesterday she was “feeling well”.

Yesterday’s honour follows the opening of an $18 million cancer treatment centre bearing her name in Melbourne last week.
She said she hadn’t watched the biopic but would eventually.
