Olivia Rogers has revealed her heartbreak over trying to have a baby with ex-husband Justin McKeone.
Rogers said she was going through IVF just before they separated in October.
“I love children and would be ecstatic to be a mum one day,” Rogers wrote in a Q&A on Instagram.
“This has been one of the hardest parts of the break up & something I grieved heavily as I was actually going through fertility treatment in August/September after trying to fall pregnant for quite a while.
“I hope to share more about this eventually as I know it could help a lot of other women, but it’s all still pretty fresh so I’m not ready just yet.
“Sending love to anyone going through fertility struggles, it is incredibly difficult & can be very lonely.”
Rogers, 30, also opened up about the tough months since the break up but isn’t yet ready to detail the exact reasons why.
The pair got married in February after four and a half years together.
“It’s complicated & there were a lot of factors that led to my decision,” she wrote.
“I will share a bit more when I feel ready to.”
She added: “I genuinely feel really good right now, happy, calm and content.
“The hard moments still happen every now and then, but they are becoming fewer and farther between — and they are usually because of some kind of awkward situation like when I received our final wedding video the other night.
“I found the first 4 weeks post break up the most challenging, but time really does help to heal — that and surrounding myself with amazing, supportive friends and family, and also going to therapy.”
The pair sold their home last month with McKeone taking ownership of their beloved dog Ziggy.
“I miss Zig so much. I haven’t seen him since September,” Rogers wrote.
“I would have loved to share him but we couldn’t come to an agreement on that unfortunately. I would love to get another dog down the track but I’m not ready just yet.”
Rogers, who is now back in Adelaide with family for Christmas, was also asked what she’d learnt about herself.
“The first (thing) that comes to mind is that I am stronger & more independent than I realised,” she wrote.
“The second is that my intuition is often right – if I actually tune in and listen to it. I need to trust my gut more.
“This year also reminded me just how important the relationships are in your life that aren’t romantic. Having a solid support network is everything, so putting time and effort in to maintain friendships & family bonds is vital.”
