Nikki Webster has remained tight-lipped on rumours she is the ‘Alien’ on The Masked Singer Australia.
The Strawberry Kisses singer has been widely touted on social media as the celebrity behind the alien costume competing on the new reality show judged by Lindsay Lohan, Jackie O, Dannii Minogue and Dave Hughes.
“I am so flattered,” said Webster, 32, who appeared on Dancing With The Stars in 2005.

“I have seen a bit of talk and a lot of kids at the studio (her Nikki Webster Dance School). Would I do a reality show like that? I don’t know. I guess it depends … right time, right place, it just depends.”
The Masked Singer launched on Channel 10 last night to impressive ratings of 1.16 million viewers nationally.
The format originated in South Korea, where it was called King of Mask Singer, with the series to feature 12 celebrities singing in head to toe costumes with their faces concealed by masks.
Their identities will be unknown to other contestants as well as the judges, who do their best to identify the singer solely from their voice and a series of clues.
Former Big Brother host Gretel Killeen was the first celebrity to be unmasked under an octopus costume after singing her version of Fame.
Twitter lit up with suggestions of which celebrities were behind the other costumes with Webster widely tipped to be the alien.
“I didn’t watch it, I was working,” she said.
“I was teaching dancers in the studio. I will watch it though, definitely.”
Webster of course has been a household name since her starring role in the Sydney Olympics opening ceremony in 2000.
This week she has partnered with Deliveroo to promote today’s One Hit Wonder Day that falls with a special Strawberry Kisses sweet treat available to order from Max Brenner via the food delivery app.
“I love the song (Strawberry Kisses), it means so much to me,” she said. “It has so many wonderful memories of it. Back when I first heard the song and wanted to record it, I had to fight really hard for it and to see that it has lived on makes me really proud.”
She added: “Whether it is people taking the mickey out of me at a nightclub singing it or little kids dancing to it, it is fun and universal and I am fine with it. I don’t take it seriously.”
Webster indicated she has big things planned with the 20th anniversary of the Sydney Olympics next year.
“There’s a few things happening,” she said. “I am writing and hopefully there are some avenues I can take with my music, whether it be writing for other artists and things like that. The next 18 months is going to be big.”
