Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Anna Wintour have ramped up the superstar quota at the Australian Open.
Hollywood movie star Kidman, her country singer husband Urban, and their fashion editor friend Wintour braved the scorching heat to sit courtside and happily posed for pictures in Tennis Australia’s VIP zone.
Earlier in the day, Australian film director Baz Luhrmann revealed how Vogue editor-in-chief Wintour saved his 2001 movie Moulin Rouge, which stars Kidman.

Luhrmann said the film was initially mocked and derided by industry doubters.
“It was dead in the water,” he said. “But, in a moment of inspiration, I sent it to Anna Wintour, who I knew had influence.
“Despite the naysayers, she looked at it and immediately dispatched (famous photographer) Annie Leibovitz) to Australia, and she put Nicole on the cover of the September issue.
“We fly to New York,” Luhrmann added.
“I screened the unfinished film. Right in the middle of screening the film, our life flashing before our eyes, the film breaks down.
“Nicole goes: ‘Baaaaaz!’ But the film goes on, it plays, and the rest is history.”
“Honestly, we really wouldn’t be here if (Wintour) wasn’t able to cut through the noise,” Luhrmann said. “Anna has always been about the future.”
Wintour also appeared as keynote speaker for the Australian Open Inspirational Series at The Glasshouse.
Her wide-ranging speech included a swipe at Australian tennis legend Margaret Court, who has made headlines for her homophobic comments.
“It is inconsistent for the sport for Margaret Court’s name to be on the stadium that does so much to bring all people together across their differences,” Wintour said.
