Elyse Taylor has opened up about her early days living in New York with Miranda Kerr — and it was a long way from their glamorous lives now.

LIFE has not always been so glamorous for some of Australia’s top models.

Elyse Taylor has opened up about her early days living in New York with Miranda Kerr in an interview for InStyle’s April issue.

“Miranda Kerr and I lived in this terrible model apartment, it was awful! (Manhattan) is so different from Sydney — I felt very isolated, I cried a lot. But as time passes you slowly make friends and find your way,” she said.

Taylor and Kerr went on from their dodgy apartment to walk on the Victoria’s Secret runway.

“VS is a family and everyone really looks after each other,” she said.

Taylor said she had an exciting and often wild youth growing up in the eastern suburbs.

Now a mum to Lila, her life has changed in many ways.

“I just try not to focus on what everyone else is doing, and be a good person and a devoted friend,” she said.
