A motley crew of familiar, and not so familiar, Australian faces will hit the dance floor for Dancing With The Stars 2020.
Logie award-winning actor Claudia Karvan, comedians Ed Kavalee and Celia Pacquola, reality stars Angie Kent and Dean Wells and singer Dami Im are among the celebrities set to compete on the series when it launches on Channel 10 on Sunday February 9 at 7.30pm.
“This is my opportunity to really step out of my comfort zone and see how far I can take it,” singer Im said.
“I’m nervous knowing that I have two left feet but am looking forward to giving it a good go.”
Olivia Newton John’s actor daughter Chloe Lattanzi is also competing, as is Christian Wilkins, the socialite son of Channel 9 entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins.
Also on the show is Amazing Race Australia host Beau Ryan and AFL legend Travis Cloke.
“I signed up to DWTS to have fun and show there’s more to me than just being some guy who used to be good at footy,” Cloke said.
Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller are hosts of the series.
WHO’S COMPETING AND WHAT THEY SAY:
ANGIE KENT – Bachelorette reality star: “Who goes into lockdown twice in one year to live in the African jungle for four and a half weeks and then spends nine weeks of dating twenty fellas in lockdown? This should be a piece of cake … right? Yeah, you’re right, I am going to struggle for sure.”
BEAU RYAN – former rugby league player turned TV host: “I’m not going to lie. I thought I knew how to dance a little bit, but after the first rehearsal I now know that: 1. I have no idea how to dance, 2. I really have no idea how to dance and 3. I just simply can’t dance”.
CELIA PACQUOLA – actor and comedian: “I am scared but every time I think about it, I laugh. I think the whole idea of me doing Dancing With The Stars is hilarious.”
CHLOE LATTANZI – actor and singer: “My mum has been a warrior these past few years and I’m dancing for her, to show her how far she and I have come as mother and daughter.”
CHRISTIAN WILKINS – model socialite son of Richard Wilkins: “Walking into my first rehearsal I thought I was going to s*** my pants … which was an issue because I wasn’t really wearing any.”
CLAUDIA KARVAN – Australian actor: “I discovered Salsa a couple of years ago and it’s become a passion. I’ve now danced Salsa in clubs in Santiago, Cuba, Mexico, Jordan, Melbourne and Sydney.”
DAMI IM – singer: “This is my opportunity to really step out of my comfort zone and see how far I can take it. I’m nervous knowing that I have two left feet but am looking forward to giving it a good go.”
DEAN WELLS – Married At First Sight contestant: “As with most of my public appearances, I’m sure there will be a mixed reaction. I have my haters and I have my supporters, so I’m ready for the whole spectrum of reactions. I just hope I can prove the haters wrong!”
ED KAVALEE – radio host and comedian: “I’m scared of all the Latin dances. No one is less Latin than me. I did the macarena once, but I dislocated my shoulder. Jorja won with Samuel Johnson and now she can taste defeat with me.”
TRAVIS CLOKE – AFL legend: “I signed up to DWTS to have fun and show there’s more to me than just being some guy who used to be good at footy.”
