Model Delainey Mary channelled a memorable Brownlow moment with her tribute to jockey partner Ben Allen at the Caulfield Guineas on Saturday.
Mary said she thought of the famous red carpet 20 years ago when Rachel McLeod, wife of former Adelaide Crows star Andrew McLeod, wore a glittered shape of a 23 — his number — on her back.
She wore stickers in her hair that read B.Allen with diamontes scattered over her styled updo.
“I saw that 23 and I thought that’s really cool,’’ Mary said.
“I just went down to the two dollar shop and bought the stickers and the diamontes. I love planning my outfits and showing my support in different ways.”
Mary looked stunning in the Beverly Rooftop marquee with other partners of jockeys including Elyse Zahra.
She was jumping for joy when Allen won both his rides, in Race 5 and Race 10.
Allen, a budding DJ, also hit the decks at Caulfield Racecourse later in the night.
Mary has grown to love racing and the fashion side of it, showing up trackside at most of Allen’s race meetings.
The pair met last year at Pakenham when Mary went down to visit one of the horses owned then by her mum Melissa Rosich and her stepdad, former VRC CEO Steve Rosich.
She is a busy model with Chadwick while Allen is honing his craft and enjoying being a DJ.
Mary’s eldest sister Lexi married Western Bulldogs star Rory Lobb last weekend and she will soon head to the Maldives to continue celebrations with the newlyweds.
