Gary and Jordan Ablett have celebrated their son Levi’s third birthday by donating a precious gift on his behalf to mark the milestone.
While paying tribute to their beautiful growing boy, former Geelong champion Gary said Levi had given an animal to a family living in poverty.
“Levi lights up when his friends play with his toys, even more so than when he plays with them himself, so we thought we’d do something a little different for his birthday this year,’’ Gary wrote on Instagram.
“We decided that rather than getting him something, we would get something for Levi to give to someone else. A lesson that we really want to teach our children — it is better to give than to receive.
“So today Levi through @compassionau gifted a goat to a family living in poverty.
“He also gifted a cow to a rural family which includes agricultural training so that the cow can become a small business, helping the family become self-sufficient.”
Jordan also posted new joyous pictures of Levi who is battling a rare degenerative disease.
“The happiest of third birthdays to our sweet and influential light, who continues to amaze us,’’ Jordan wrote.
“Levi you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a beam of sunshine on a cloudy day and we love you so much.
“You made me a mamma and I can’t be more proud of my big three-year-old boy today!”
Jordan and Gary welcomed a daughter, Grace, in November last year.
Gary wrote to Levi: “We love watching you grow and seeing your heart shine in so many ways. You’re a beautiful, selfless, joyful young boy who we love more than you could ever know.”
