Lambo guy Adrian Portelli is taking matters into his own hands when it comes to dealing with brazen home invaders, turning up on the front doorstep of a man who allegedly broke into his $40 million penthouse.
The 35-year-old businessman took to social media early Tuesday to update his 361K followers about the incident in which two men broke into his luxury apartment just 24 hours earlier.
CCTV of the break-in showed the men, who Portelli has since “named and shamed”, entering the high-rise dwelling along Exhibition St before setting their sights on one of his luxury cars – a $3m McLaren Senna GTR.
Portelli told his loyal followers the pair had repeatedly taken to social media to share details of their trespassing in the hours following and even threatened to return after he took the incident public.
But the Young Rich Lister soon turned the tables on the duo, adopting a vigilante take-down where he turned up on the doorstep of one of their homes in the middle of the night.
“We are at the front of one of the guy’s house who broke into the penthouse,” The LMCT+ founder said in a clip shared on social media overnight.
“He’s continued being a smart a*** online so I ended up finding out his address. I’ve come to his house and knocked on his door. He showed his face, saw me and sprinted into his room.”
Knocking on the front door as the alleged offender hid, Portelli continued: “Mate c’mon! If you want to show up uninvited to people’s houses I’ll do the same thing to you, mate.”
“F***ing weak dog.”
But things appeared to go from bad to worse for the alleged intruder after police quickly followed suit with their own visit to the property.
“We’re making progress. Break ins need to be taken more seriously in this country,” Portelli wrote alongside an image showing two police vehicles parked outside.
The new father also revealed he had briefly exchanged messages with one of the men, who offered to work for Portelli free of charge for a month to fix his “wrong doings.”
A police spokesman confirmed that an investigation was underway.
“It is understood two male offenders gained access to a residence between 11pm on Sunday 25 and 2am on Monday 26 August,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
