Model claims she was drugged at Bieber's Melbourne party

UPDATE: A MELBOURNE model who says she had her drink spiked at a Justin Bieber party says she was left “convulsing” at the height of the drama.

Breaking down in the TV interview, Bailey Scarlett, 18, repeated the claims reported yesterday in the Herald Sun.

And she told A Current Affair she was annoyed at Bieber’s suggestions “I was faking it”.

“That’s what made me so angry.”

“When my partner found me, I was unconscious and convulsing,” she said.

“Everything was still spinning in my head”.

Ms Scarlett said she began to feel strange after her third drink at the studio in Cremorne in Melbourne’s inner-suburbs, describing it as a “scary and foreign feeling.”

“I’ve never done drugs before in my life and that’s why the feeling was foreign to me,” Ms Scarlett told the program.

“A really scary, scary feeling.”

But she remembers falling to the floor.

“I was basically just screaming, I need an ambulance.”

She didn’t blame the Canadian singer, who she claims was initially concerned for her wellbeing.

Ms Scarlett said she remembered Bieber carrying her to the upstairs bathroom before saying that she was faking it, asking her if she had caught “Bieber Fever”.

Ms Scarlett said one of his entourage then suggested she was having a panic attack, which she denies.

“For them to call it a panic attack is just a joke.

“I’ve had anxiety attacks before and I know how to calm myself down in that situation,” she said.

Ms Scarlett said she eventually left through the front door before passing out on the street, where her boyfriend found her unconscious and convulsing.

She warned aspiring models to be wary of the darker side of the industry.

“So many girls don’t understand that there’s actually a lot that goes on behind the scenes,” she said.

Despite the claims, the 18-year-old has not officially reported the matter to police.

Police confirmed officers were called to the alleged incident in Cremorne on Sunday night and asked Ms Scarlett to report the matter at Richmond police station later, which she has not yet done.

She took to social media on Monday to claim her drink had been spiked by somebody at the party after she drank a shot with Bieber.

It is not suggested that Bieber himself spiked the drink.

In a statement issued on Monday Victoria Police said: “Police attended an incident in Jessie Street Cremorne (on Sunday) just after 11pm.

“At that address a woman told police that she believed her drink had been spiked.

“The woman was conveyed to hospital for medical treatment and is advised to attend the Richmond police station to make an official report concerning the matter.”

But police confirmed yesterday an official report had yet to be made.

Police spokeswoman Cath Allen said: “Police have not received a report in relation to this matter.”

It comes as another woman at the party disputed Ms Scarlett’s claims.

Pily Vargas, 21, said: “She was trying to get Bieber’s attention all night, trying to take his hat.

“He wanted his hat back and she thought he was high-fiving her.

“Straight after that she started having this panic attack.”

Ms Scarlett did not respond to the Herald Sun when contacted for comment.

Family members said Ms Scarlett has been advised by her lawyer not to make any further comment as the claims are investigated.

She has since taken the posts down from Facebook.

In a statement written on Facebook, Ms Scarlett told of how she attended the party with several other models after the Canadian star requested “a bunch of hot girls” go and hang out with him.

Ms Scarlett added she was told to pour herself a glass of vodka and lemonade upon arrival.

In her statement Ms Scarlett said Bieber tried to calm her down before asking if she had simply caught “Bieber Fever”.

Ms Scarlett claims she was asked to leave out of the back door so fans wouldn’t see her.

She said she eventually left through the front door before passing out in the street.

Her boyfriend, who a friend had contacted, arrived and Ms Scarlett was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

In her Facebook statement, Ms Scarlett said: “He is the most uninspiring person I have probably met in my life.”

Bieber performed a concert at the Southern Cross Austereo roof top in South Melbourne yesterday.

The 21-year-old singer arrived at the small concert in sunglasses and a hoodie, as hundreds of fans in the street downstairs tried to get a glimpse of their idol.

He told the crowd: “I’m so tired I think I drunk too much last night.”

The Herald Sun contacted Universal Music for comment but it did not respond.

Bieber headed to Sydney after Melbourne to continue his promotional trip.
