They all got their start as TV unknowns. Now Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian and Delta Goodrem will be the biggest stars on Australian television’s night of nights.
Mauboy and Sebastian, who both rose to fame on the TV talent search Australian Idol, and Goodrem, who won our hearts as Nina Tucker on long-running soap Neighbours, will perform at the Logies at The Star on the Gold Coast on June 30.
With more than 20 albums and 150 hit singles between them, and each with an ARIA Award, the hotly anticipated performances will add some buzz to the annual event.
Mauboy, who first graced our screens auditioning for Idol judges Mark Holden, Ian “Dicko” Dickson and Marcia Hines as a 16-year-old in Alice Springs, said while her TV moment back in 2006 catapulted her to stardom, she would have been just as content living a simpler life.
“I often think back to my moment in Idol,” Mauboy said.

“There would always have been music in my life, but without Idol maybe the road would have taken me to being a music teacher in Darwin, an equally good choice.”
The popular songstress is poised to perform a deeply emotional and personal number from her upcoming fourth studio album when she sings at the awards.
“For the Logies I will perform my new single and when I co-wrote it I knew it would be hard to perform live. It’s a big emotional mountain to climb because it’s so personal,” she said. “June 30 will be a big night, a big coming of age for me and my music.
“I last performed in 2017 on the Logies stage and it was honestly the TV performance of my career I enjoyed the most, so this is a real home coming.”
Having all been signed with Sony since they entered the music industry, the trio share a special bond. While they will all perform individually, Mauboy dreams of one day sharing the stage with her colleagues.
“Guy and Delta have always been amazing role models,” she said. “The three of us have all been on the same label all our recording career so we have meet at a lot of events, concerts and showcases.
“What I have learnt from them both is talent will get you in the door but character will get you to the finish line. It’s weird we all have our own creative lane ways but there is a deep understanding and huge respect. The one piece of unfinished business I have with both is to co-write and record a song, a duet with each of them. It will happen, the stars will align.”
The 61st TV WEEK Logie Awards will take place on Sunday, June 30, at The Star Gold Coast in Queensland. All the action from the red-carpet arrivals and awards-show celebrations will be telecast on Nine Network and 9Now.
