THE Hemsworths and the Damons better watch out — they could have a new Byron Bay neighbour on the way.
Isla Fisher has been living in Hollywood on and off for 18 years but it turns out the one-time Home and Away star is ready to come home.
“I have this secret fantasy of slowing down, moving to Byron Bay, getting off the grid and sitting on the sand with a Vegemite sandwich,” she tells magazine Marie Claire in this month’s cover story.
The northern NSW holiday spot already has an impressive Hollywood presence, with Chris Hemsworth basing his family there and friend Matt Damon being a regular recent visitor.
Mother-of-three Fisher tells Marie Claire that while she loves Hollywood, it can prove challenging for family life.
“I tend to entertain at home because I want to be with my family — it’s easier to put your kids to bed and have a wine with friends,” she says.
Fisher, 42, was born in Oman to Scottish parents and moved to Perth when she was six. She met future husband Sacha Baron Cohen, the British comedian, at a party in Sydney in 2002 and they wed in 2010.
