NICK ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins says he has no regrets about appearing on The Bachelor and feels he now has the support of the Australian public.

Seven months after filming the reality show in which he copped backlash for not choosing either of the final two girls, Cummins believes the tide has turned in his favour.

After months of keeping a low profile, Bachelor Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins let his hair down as he celebrated his first Melbourne Cup at Flemington.

He was a late addition to the Birdcage, in the Mumm marquee for his first experience at the Melbourne Cup.

“It was a very challenging thing and I don’t regret it,” he told Confidential.

“I learned a lot. I think it’s come good. I think people have realised … I’ve been getting a lot of messages on my Instagram saying sorry I judged and now I see you did the right thing by them.

“People will follow what they’re told to believe and you’ve just got to be honest with yourself.

“The Bachelor happened seven months ago and I’m very happy to be charging on with the rest of my life.”

He chatted to cricket great Glenn McGrath and posed for photographs with several females as he sported red lipstick marks on his cheek.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the former rugby player. It’s understood he opted to leave through a back exit of one of the marquees after an altercation with another patron.

“Nick didn’t do anything wrong, he was a really nice guy,” one onlooker said. “The guy and his mate was hassling him over something and they got rough so security stepped in as a precaution and went our back. The other guys were kicked out.”

Later, Cummins rejoined the marquee and was spotted somersaulting into the Together Events Cup Day After Party at Crown.

“I’m having a great time. I’ve never been to Melbourne Cup before. I’ve always wanted to come down and see something similar,” he said.

“Life is good. I have bounced back and I am feeling good.”

Cummins, who headed to Kokoda after the finale aired on Channel 10, has been filming documentaries around Australia.

He opted to put his trademark gold locks under a hat and wore a suit for the event.

About his love life he said: “My love life is very low key, I am a bit gun shy mate, I am just hiding out.

“There’s a truckload of people dressed up and I want to get into the spirit and go straight to the bar.
