AFL legend Robert “Dipper” Dipierdomenico is set to enter the jungle.
The Hawthorn Brownlow medallist is the first celebrity the Herald Sun believes will appear on the new series of I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!.
Normally filmed in South Africa in January, the show has moved to northern New South Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic and is scheduled to begin filming this month.
The Australian production is due to take over the set of the UK production in Murwillumbah, just north of Byron Bay.
Others tipped to join Dipper, 62, in the cast include controversial chef Pete Evans and Dancing With the Stars judge Sharna Burgess.
There was also speculation that former Ten weatherman Tim Bailey could join the cast.
Dipper has appeared on TV show Dipper’s Backyard BBQ Wars, which airs on 7Mate and has filmed a travel show.
The five-time premiership Hawk played 240 games for the club from 1975-1991.
Other former footballers who have appeared on the show include Josh Gibson, Dale Thomas, Billy Brownless and Shane Crawford.
I’m a Celeb will again be hosted by Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown.
A Network 10 spokesperson said: “So, here’s the game plan: we’re not going to confirm or deny, but we’ll definitely have a ball. Don’t forget, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off Jan 3.”
