Gary Rohan and Madi Bennett announce they are married

Geelong forward Gary Rohan has shared a happy snap after announcing he and his love Madi Bennett have married.

The couple posted a beautiful wedding picture on Sunday with the caption simply: “Mr & Mrs Rohan” and a love heart.

Rohan wore a white suit jacket and black pants while Bennett’s white silk gown was by Karen Willis Holmes. The intimate celebration took place in Tyrendarra, in Western Victoria, along with some of Rohan’s Cats teammates including Patrick Dangerfield, Mark Blicavs and Mitch Duncan.

The pair got engaged in July with Bennett having her hen’s party last month.

Rohan, who shares two young daughters with ex-wife Amie, said he credits Madi for helping him smile again.

The beaming couple just last week shared pictures of Rohan’s daughters Bella and Sadie with the Geelong premiership cup.

“You showed me how to smile again when I thought I had forgotten how, and you have made me happier than I ever thought I could be,’’ Gary wrote on social media after proposing.

“You have made me a better partner, father and person and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you Mads xxX.”

Physiotherapist Bennett has been by Rohan’s side since 2020 with the pair slowly opening up about their relationship.

“You make me happier than I ever thought I could be,’’ she wrote.

“A kind of happiness I never knew was possible, and a kind of love I thought only existed in movies. You are my whole world and more, and forever with you is everything I could have ever dreamt of. I love you Gaz.”

Rohan split from Amie, his wife of four years, in 2020.
