Former world champion cyclist Cadel Evans is lapping up marital bliss after saying “I do’ to his long-term partner Stefania Zandonella in a lavish ceremony abroad.
The couple of nine years married at the start of June during a romantic escape to the tropical paradise of Mauritius – but only announced the happy news online this week.
Zandonella, a former professional skier, took to social media on Wednesday night to share a peek at the couple’s big day, each donning their wedding day garb and sealing the deal with a beachside kiss.
“Mr and Mrs Evans,” Zandonella captioned the loved-up post from the Indian Ocean island.
Evans wore a pastel blue suit while his Italian-born bride stunned in a white tulle and lace number completed with a floor-length veil.
Ms Zandonella also shared the heartwarming moment she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father to musician John Legend’s chart-topping hit ‘All of Me’ just moments before the newlyweds traded vows in front of a few dozen guests.
The happy couple celebrated with loved ones, including their two young boys, Aidan and Blake, as well as Evan’s adopted son, Robel whom he shares with ex-wife, Chiara Passerini.
It is the second marriage for the 2011 Tour de France winner following his divorce from Passenrini, with the former couple calling it quits about 2014.
Evans and Zandonella, a former professional skier turned instructor, usually divide their time between Switzerland and Barwon Heads but told the Herald Sun they were eyeing off a permanent return Down Under in September.
