Former Victorian premier Ted Baillieu is slowly on the mend after his latest run of ill health.
Baillieu has undergone hip surgery after suffering a nasty fall.
“I will be back kicking goals for Geelong footy club in a few weeks,” he said.
This time last year Baillieu was hobbling around with a foot injury and he’s had back surgery in recent years.
It was also about this time a decade ago that he fell from office, standing down as Premier.
In January he was feeling well and took part in the Lorne Pier to Pub swim with daughter Eleanor.
He has had some good news after daughter Martha gave birth to his and wife Robyn’s first grandchild, a boy named Arthur. Martha married Tim Amor in March last year.
Eleanor said it had been a special time with the bub but the family was supporting Ted and hoping he makes a seamless recovery.
She stepped out this week to celebrate the partnership between Viktoria & Woods and new event and office space Eclat, hosted by Nick Maxwell and Margie Woods.
