Former footy star Dale Thomas is ready to tackle a new challenge — fighting the bulge.
The former Magpie and Blue retired last year and says he’s currently 10kg over his playing weight.
A runner up on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! earlier this year, Thomas has since battled with fitness and food.
Tomorrow he will start the F45 45 day challenge in a bid to get in shape.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Thomas said.
“Enough’s enough.
“Fast food, driving to and from golf, it’s become too convenient.
“I’m going to try to cut the booze as well.
“I will have comfortably put on 10kg from my playing weight.
“I lost about 7kg in the jungle after putting on about eight or nine before.
“I probably haven’t lived the most healthy lifestyle but hopefully the Challenge will sort me out.”
Thomas, who turns 33 next week, plays golf 3-4 times a week. He said he didn’t have a number in mind for weight loss, but he was committed to giving it his best shot.
“I’m pretty bullish,” he said.
“I’m just trying to get into a routine of eating better.
“I’m not trying to make an AFL comeback, it’ll just make walking around the golf course a bit more comfortable.”
Thomas, who is doing special comments with Triple M, said he was used to being in isolation after his stint in South Africa.
“It was more normal for me than not and I don’t really know what normal is,” he said.
“Look out in 45 days.”
