Jason Donovan has returned to the set of Neighbours, 30 years since he left the show which launched his career.
Donovan, who found fame on the soap as Scott Robinson, headed back to Ramsay St today.
His daughter Jemma joined the show last year and he visited her on set in a break from his schedule as a star of Chicago the Musical.
“There was a little bit of sentimentality and nostalgia,’’ Donovan told Confidential.
“I always talked about returning and I felt the timing was right. Also paying homage to my daughter and her work.
“I feel a lot of history here. It was a bit of magic, this show, and it changed my life.”
Donovan said he couldn’t resist a visit before he heads back to London in two weeks.
His father Terence was also a star on Neighbours, and his half-sister Stephanie McIntosh has returned for the show’s 35th anniversary filming.
He watched Jemma shooting some scenes.
“She was doing good, she knew her lines and I was at the back of Lassiters (hotel),” he said.
“I can’t remember my last day which was in 1989 but driving up Burwood Highway and onto Springvale Road, it’s madness to think of where we’ve all gone.
“It’s a great legacy this show has created and it’s helped launch a lot of careers.”
