Erin Molan’s on-air comment hints at split from fiance Sean Ogilvy

A flippant comment made by Erin Molan during a sports segment last week has fuelled speculation the journalist has called off her engagement to police officer Sean Ogilvy. PLUS which model is copping flak for her good deeds?

Erin Molan appears to have all but confirmed rumours she has split from Sean Ogilvy — live on air.

The popular sports host was reporting about Mitchell Pearce’s engagement to Kristin Scott last week when she wrapped up the segment by saying: “Ahhh to be young and in love again, wouldn’t that be nice.”

The on-air comment, coupled with the fact that she hasn’t worn her $100,000 engagement ring since June, nor been seen in public with the police officer since December, has fuelled long-running speculation it is over between the pair.

It is understood they are still living under the same roof where they co-parent their daughter, Eliza.

In June, Molan explained that she wasn’t wearing her 28-carat white gold ring after she broke her hand.

Then in September Molan said she no longer wore her ring as it constantly scratched their daughter.

Molan and Ogilvy got engaged in April, 2017, one year after they began dating.

They had booked a wedding venue for December the following year, however cancelled the nuptials to instead plan a more intimate affair when their daughter arrived.

MODEL MONIKA IS THE MEAL DEAL

Australian model Monika Clarke is stuck in New York amid the coronavirus pandemic, out of work and with time on her hands.

So the Guess beauty decided to make the most of her usually non-existent down time and help those on the front line in NY — one of the hardest-hit states in the world.

Clarke, along with her boyfriend Jared Lyon and his brother, are delivering meals to nurses and doctors in hospitals around her adopted hometown.

“I wanted to give money to help out, but I wasn’t making any money, so I thought, ‘what do I have that I can give’, and that was time and a platform to raise money,” Clarke told Sunday Confidential.

“My boyfriend and his brother have a healthy food delivery service called Serve Natural so I thought, ‘let’s combine all these things and get everyone involved’.

“We get up every morning, go to the kitchen in New Jersey, fill the truck up with 2000 meals and we drive to between 10 and 15 hospitals each day.

“We have reached out to as many connections as we have in New York and within a month we raised $150,000 to fund these meals.”

And while you would think the good deed would be met with praise by Clarke’s online followers, the model was surprised to be sent a slew of nasty comments by people claiming she is simply doing the work for attention.

“Absolutely you get praise, but you also get criticism,” she said.

“For us, the highlight is seeing the nurses come out and thank us.

“But being a model, you get a lot of people saying, ‘you are just doing this for attention’.

“I have a platform and a voice. I have enough followers to do my part and help everyone else. That is why I am doing this.”

While Clarke has no plans to return to Australia any time soon, she does worry about her family back home, who believe they may have suffered from the virus as early as January when testing wasn’t readily available.

“A few of my family members actually had it a few months ago and about 20 of my friends over here in the US have had it,” she said.

“They had every single symptom then started hearing more about the virus and realised that’s what it was.

“They live in Swan Hill in Victoria in the country.

“My dad hasn’t had a flu or cold in over 10 years and he got so ill, there was a point he didn’t think he was going to make it.”
