Emma Hawkins opens up on rural living and daughter Arabella’s bond with husband Tom

THE daughter of Cats star Tom Hawkins may be just over a year old, but she’s already forming a special relationship with her dad on the young family’s country property, mum Emma Hawkins says.

EMMA Hawkins is proud her little girl Arabella is growing up with a love of farm life.

Hawkins and her husband, Geelong star Tom Hawkins, have formed a special bond with their 16-month-old daughter on their country property.

“People say your children are a product of your environment and Belle has relished this environment,’’ Emma said.

The family lives on a rural property near Geelong.

“She’s happiest when she’s outside and it’s a really beautiful thing.

“Every morning, she and Tom are collecting eggs together and feeding the sheep in the afternoons. They’re bonding and it’s a special time.”

Hawkins said Mother’s Day this Sunday would be a special day to reflect on family.

“I’m a pretty lucky girl, it’s a day you reflect on your mother and your grandmother and it’s also hard for a lot of people. Tom misses his mum every day,’’ she said.

Hawkins and Arabella feature in the new campaign for Jeanswest’s Woolmark collection, which was shot at their home.

“One of my first Brownlow dresses I wore was merino wool and I’m launching a children’s range soon and will incorporate as many Australian products as possible,’’ Hawkins said.

“For a long time, merino wool was considered unattainable but now we’re creating products in an affordable way. It’s promising for the industry.”
