Love Island has turned into Covid Island with four of the show’s stars forced into isolation together in Melbourne.

Former AFL player Mitch Hibberd revealed on Tuesday he has tested positive for Covid while girlfriend Tina Provis and mates Aaron Waters and Ryan Reid have been staying in his apartment for the past week.

“We’re currently doing a 10 day quarantine in my apartment,’’ Hibberd told his social media followers.

“My test came back positive. I feel a bit sick but nothing too bad. Hopefully everyone is able to get vaxxed coz it’s not a nice feeling.”

The four will come out of isolation on December 23 before Christmas.

Waters, from WA, said he wasn’t feeling well and had cold like symptoms, but was waiting for his result. Provis has also felt a bit sick but has tested negative twice and said they are all double vaccinated.

Despite Hibberd testing positive they weren’t socially distancing with the group filming TikTok videos together and Provis even posting herself giving Hibberd a kiss on the cheek.

“What a good crew, Covid Island,’’ said Provis, adding that it was a reminder for everyone to get vaccinated.

“I’m super thankful that I haven’t had Covid because I know it can affect people pretty badly and I’m thankful Mitch has been OK as well.

“It’s put a huge dampener on all of our plans over Christmas, we were going to see his family in Tassie, I haven’t even met them yet, we were going to the Goldy to see the Queensland crew so it’s super shattering we won’t be doing all those things. Thankfully we haven’t been hit too hard by Covid.”

Hibberd added: “While I’m super disappointed, I’m hopeful I can still see my family for Christmas. I’m so thankful that I’ve not been too affected and feeling like I’m on the mend. Thank you guys for all the love you shared, really appreciate the support you’ve shown. Everyone stay safe over Christmas.”
