Dave Hughes has his right leg primed for one good kick as he sets his sights on a coveted footy trophy.

The comedian, radio host and judge on The Masked Singer will take part in this Saturday’s Fox Footy Longest Kick competition.

“I was never a long kick but in my day I should be able to get it 40 metres,’’ Hughes said.

“I’ve probably only got one good kick in me before my hamstring pops.”

Hughes will compete in the KFC Celebrity Challenge along with singers Guy Sebastian and Amy Shark, cricketers Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins, basketball legend Andrew Gaze, Gogglebox favourites Adam and Symon, Supercar driver Scott McLaughlin and fellow comedian Anne Edmonds.

Footy legends Nick Riewoldt and Jonathan Brown will captain the teams on the Yarra River, with a host of AFLW and AFL stars also having a punt on their longest kick.

“Let’s see if Nathan Lyon can live up to his nickname, Garry,’’ Hughes said.

“I grew up in Warrnambool and live in St Kilda, but I’m happy to be on Browny’s team.”
