Every god of thunder needs his throne and Chris Hemsworth has 10 in his new home.

Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are about to move into their Byron Bay mega mansion which - aside from plenty of toilets - includes a parents’ living area bigger than many houses.

Details about the swish Hemsworth compound reveals a his and her walk in robe bigger than most living rooms, a 50m infinity pool, and even a sizeable “butler’s pantry”.

While online critics say the house looks like Chadstone-by-the-sea, the 18-month build is now almost complete.

Hemsworth and Pataky estimated the build would cost $8.7m but further estimates indicate the total cost could come closer to $18m on the isolated 4.2ha property, 12km out of Byron Bay.

The house also includes spaces for seven cars and space for 26 surfboards.

The celebrity escape allows the occupants to drive into a lower ground floor garage which leads immediately to separate massage room, sauna room and steam room.

To stay in Thor-like nick, Hemsworth is able to walk to a private gym, with a nearby pond area to relax in after a workout.

The ground floor is completed by extensive entertainment area.

This includes a 6m-long bar with room for seven seats.

There is a huge games room — with enough space for a bowling alley — and a separate cinema-like 12m x 6m television room.

Upstairs on the ground floor, Chris and Elsa should be able to find some personal space with the parents retreat area bigger than most houses.

The palatial master suite includes a 6m x 6m bedroom with a fireplace, and a double bathroom with sea views.

There is also an enormous his and hers walk in robe that measures 6.8m x 4m — bigger than most living rooms.

The neighbouring children’s area is surrounded by play areas and has four huge rooms, all with ensuites and three with walk-in robes.

The Hemsworth’s have three children, seven-year-old India and twin five-year-old boys Sasha and Tristan.

There is a 50m rooftop infinity pool and a spa, plus a fire pit. The terrace also has an extensive garden area.

There is also a large kitchen adjoining a family dining room and a “butler pantry”.

There appears to be a large cellar for any Californian red brought over by Hollywood mates.

The latest documents show works going on for the demolition of an external existing bed and breakfast and construction of a new garage and studio building to be completed in three stages.

Outside is space labelled for a “fire truck” and more parking.

The couple paid $7m for the original property in 2014 but decided to tear down the existing eight bedroom Balinese-style mansion.

A development application for the build was lodged with Byron Shire Council in late 2016 and approved in March 2017.

Palm trees were installed and a white finish were added to the house in recent months.

The couple moved to Byron Bay to escape the noise of Los Angeles five years ago but the move has made the coastal getaway a magnet for celebrity visitors including Hemsworth’s brother Liam and wife Miley Cyrus.

Chris’ mate Matt Damon also had a house in the town but he reportedly sold that for $3.8m last year.
