THOR superstar Chris Hemsworth has gushed about his favourite Victorian hot spots — Flinders Lane and Cape Woolamai — to the Hollywood Reporter.
“I’ve got to say Flinders Lane is pretty special,” Hemsworth told the LA-based movie industry publication.
“There’s a whole lot of bars and night-life and restaurants there, which remind me a bit of New York, you know, the eclectic diversity that’s there.”

Hemsworth, born and raised on Phillip Island, added: “Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island, is one of my favourite spots to surf. I spent a lot of my childhood there and have great memories growing up with my brothers.”
The Hollywood Reporter piece also describes Federation Square as a “mellower Times Square where all paths seem to lead.”
It also name-checks homegrown talent including Cate Blanchett, Ruby Rose, Eric Bana, Nicole Kidman, Isabel Lucas, Andreja Pejic and musicians Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), Keith Urban and Kylie and Dannii Minogue, adding: “Indeed, Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, is where many of these famous faces got their starts, and it’s still a place that draws a fair number back.”
It mentions celebrity stays by Ed Sheeran and One Direction (at Crown Resort), Pink and Lady Gaga (at Park Hyatt), and Kim Kardashian, who once rented out an entire floor of The Langham.
Melbourne chefs Andrew McConnell (“who does everything from oysters to anchovies to lamb in ways that will knock your socks off”) and Jerry Mai (“a talent whom the likes of Anthony Bourdain would probably love”) also featured in the report.
