CHANNEL Seven will stand by celebrity chef and MKR judge Pete Evans after he copped more public criticism this week, this time over controversial advice about sunscreen.

PETE Evans job at Channel 7 is 100 per cent secure at the network. He is going nowhere.

Herald Sun Confidential understands that Seven will continue to stand by Evans, who has attracted controversy this week after his comments regarding not using everyday sunscreen.

OPINION: PETE EVANS LITTLE MORE THAN A CELEBRITY QUACK

Evans said on Facebook: “The silly thing is people put on normal chemical sunscreen then lay out in the sun for hours on end, and think that they are safe.”

He has often been in the headlines through his left of centre views on the paleo diet.

But his opinions outside of the show about these issues does not matter according to sources at Seven.

They respect his work on My Kitchen Rules and his sincerity and passion.

Seven announced earlier this year that Evans and Manu Feildel had signed on for two more years of huge hit MKR.

Work on the 2018 series has already started.
