Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney has confirmed his Channel 7 footy show has been axed.
Cooney was part of The Armchair Experts for the past seven years which aired after the footy on Friday nights.
“Who would’ve thought that show wouldn’t run forever. It is a sad day. The Armchair Experts are no more,” Cooney revealed on SEN.
“Seven years. We started on digital. We started out on Twitter and eventually we got to broadcast.”
Cooney, who co-hosted the program with Cam Luke and had rotating panellists including Georgie Parker and Tommy Sheridan, joked about the network’s new signings taking all the money.
“I’m just a victim of some of my colleagues here (at SEN) coming in and taking the cash,” he joked.
Among those joining Seven from Nine are Craig Hutchison and Kane Cornes, plus Nick Riewoldt and as expected Caroline Wilson.
Seven has announced new programs for the footy broadcast post-match, including Extra Time and The Wash Up.
Other shows will be The Agenda Setters, Unfiltered, Sunday Footy Feast and Kane’s
Call.
