Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale and wife Jules have become parents to a baby girl and revealed her adorable name.

Lachie and Jules Neale have welcomed a baby girl named Piper.

Brisbane star Lachie Neale and wife Jules have shared their joy after welcoming a daughter, Piper Rose Neale.

“And just like that all the years of dreaming, wishing, longing don’t seem to matter because here you are in my arms after all,’’ Jules wrote on Thursday.

“I won’t take a second of you for granted my little P mama loves you beyond words.”

Jules also wrote on a video of the pair: “Yesterday was the best day. Piper Rose Neale you are my world.”

Brownlow medallist Lachie reposted the video of Jules and Piper with the caption “My girls”.

The couple had been at the centre of talk among the footy world after trade drama involving Lachie and a potential move back to WA.

The Brisbane star committed to seeing out his contract at the Lions after reports he was exploring the option of returning to play at Fremantle with Jules wanting more support from family.

“I want to thank everyone for your love and support over the last week,” Jules wrote on social media two weeks ago.

“Your kind words have meant so much to Lach and myself and have really helped drown out the not so pleasant noise so thank you.”

Neale acknowledged it was a tough time weighing up his options but said he had secured more support for his family.

Neale told the club at his exit meeting that he had considered his position and was intent on remaining with the club for the next two years.

He admitted there was consideration given to moving back to the west, but he was certain he could fulfil his contract.

After winning the Brownlow last year he paid tribute to Jules for leaving her job to follow his dreams.

“Clearly as a lot of people know my wife is heavily pregnant,” Neale said.

“She is from WA, has a lot of family and support network in WA, but behind the scenes we had a couple of conversations about how that looked moving forward.

“With the Covid situation in the last couple of years it’s been really hard for her to see her family and friends, and I have got a great support network in Perth as well.

“We were half considering the prospect of getting back at some stage but after sitting down and talking through it with our family and friends and with the club and with my management team it became pretty clear this is where the best place for us is to be, firstly for my footy and secondly we believe we can get the support network around us moving forward, so it‘s challenging times with everyone with Covid and we are no different.”
