Former AFL star Brendan Fevola says he saved his baby daughter’s life during a choking scare.

Fevola said he was watching television when his 17-month-old girl, Tobi, ran into the room, choking on lollies.

“I had a bit of a scare, bad parenting. But I pretty much saved Tobi’s life,” Fevola said on his Fox FM radio show today, with co-hosts Fifi Box and Byron Cooke.

Fev said he was home with Tobi, wife Alex was working upstairs and daughter Mia had gone for a walk.

He said Tobi went into Mia’s room, broke into a jar of lollies, stuffed them in her mouth, and started choking.

Fevola only realised the situation when Tobi ran back into the TV room panicked.

“Her face was going red and she was choking. I put my hands on her neck and squeezed up,” Fevola said.

“I swear to God, there were 10 raspberry lollies pop out like a bazooka. They kept coming out.”

“If she didn’t run out to me, god knows what would have happened. They came out like a gun – boom, boom, boom – and I’m like, ‘How many are in your freaking mouth?’

“I save her life. She nearly died. It was bloody scary.”

Fevola said the incident happened yesterday.
