Boxer Michael Zerafa says he’s got ‘beef’ with Richmond star Dustin Martin

After ending Anthony Mundine’s career, Michael Zerafa has called out Dustin Martin, claiming the Richmond champion can’t fight.

Fresh from ending Anthony Mundine’s career, star boxer Michael Zerafa has his eyes on Tigers star Dustin Martin.

Zerafa noted Martin’s attendance at the bout in Bendigo on Saturday and has previously challenged him to a charity fight.

“There’s a bit of beef with me and him,’’ Zerafa said.

“I’d definitely make something happen for charity and show him that he can’t box.

“He was there, I saw him, but not in my corner.”

Also among the sellout crowd were AFLW star Tayla Harris and NRL legend Sonny Bill Williams with Mick Gatto promoting the fight.

Zerafa said Mundine was humble in the face of defeat.

“I was a 13 year old and I reached out to him on MySpace and said one day I’ll fight you and end your career,’’ Zerafa said.

“He mentioned it, he’s still got the message saved. He said I can see the hunger in your eyes, you are definitely going to win a world title.

“I play the villain and I just want to get it out there that I had a dream.

“When I fought Jeff Horn they said we can’t have two nice guys. So it’s just stuck now.”

Zerafa is angling for a showdown with Australian boxing’s rising star, Tim Tszyu.
