The big names started the year off well in 2022’s first radio ratings survey, but there was a drop for these popular shows.

SEN has posted disappointing numbers with its high-profile breakfast show going from 2.3 to 1.3 in the latest radio ratings survey released on Thursday.

The A-team did return to air later than others, after announcing a shake-up with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson doing fewer days, and Nathan Buckley joining as co-host on Mondays, but that low figure is a worry.

Gerard Whateley in the mornings remained on 2.1 while the other slots went down.

In other news, most big names on radio have started the year on a high.

Gold FM’s Christian O’Connell marked his 14th consecutive survey as No.1 FM breakfast show on 9.7, while Fox FM’s Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody and Nova’s Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown both shot up to be equal second on 7.5.

KIIS FM’s Lauren Phillips and Jase Hawkins also made gains to 6.4, as did smoothfm’s Jennifer Hansen and Mike Perso on 6.5.

The only program that didn’t improve was Triple M’s Marty Sheargold, which went from 4.6 to 4.0.

3AW’s Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft were still well in front on 22.5 but ABC’s Sammy J recorded a big drop from 14 to 9.8.

In mornings, 3AW’s Neil Mitchell was a clear leader on 17.6 while GOLD FM further increased its audience, as it did in afternoons and drive.

Most percentages were up in drive which was led again by 3AW’s Tom Elliott.

Nova’s Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey moved ahead of FOX FM’s Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little on 9.1 and 8.3 respectively. KIIS FM’s Will and Woody had a good result climbing to 8.2.

The survey was conducted between January 16 to February 26.
