HOLLYWOOD star Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have reached out to Essendon champion, and budding New York barista, Jobe Watson and offered him a job.
Watson, who expressed a desire to whip up flat whites and appease the latte set in the Big Apple during his hiatus from football, has a standing offer to pull a few shifts at Furness and Jackman’s Laughing Man Cafe in Tribeca.
MORE: Watson remains undecided on whether he’ll return
“We heard a while ago that he could not play footy for a year and was interested in being a barista, so yeah, we made an offer if he wants to work at our cafe in New York,’’ Furness said.
“It is our coffee company, Laughing Man, and it (the proceeds) goes into our foundation which we use to help out the coffee farmers in Ethiopia.
“We have put the offer out there to him (Jobe). It still stands.’’
Jackman, fresh from filming the latest instalment in the Wolverine film franchise in New Mexico, and Furness arrived in Melbourne on Wednesday for a family break with extended family.
Watson has been a global nomad since January, spending time in the USA and Europe, following his suspension from footy as part of the fallout from the drawn out Essendon doping saga.
He is expected to make a decision on his playing career in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile Jobe, if you need a contact for the Laughing Man drop me a line!
