IT’S the beard that keeps giving.

Music boss Michael Gudinski credited his platinum whiskers, grown over the last six months, with a recent run of successes, including two No. 1 albums, an APRA Song of the Year, and a Rolling Stones tour.

Promising to take it off after the Stones left town, Gudinski did so, with the help of Sasha Coxon before the ARIA Awards on Wednesday night, as a money-raising effort for beyondblue.

So far, Gudinski’s hairless heroics have raised $46,000, including a generous donation from British hit maker Ed Sheeran. “I’m feeling fresh, I’m feeling renewed,” Gudinski said.

The Mushroom Group and Frontier Touring boss is also at the top of his game after this week being named by Australian Music Industry Directory as the country’s most powerful player.

Supporters can donate to the cause at Everyday Hero until Sunday.
