INTERNATIONALLY renowned barrister Amal Alamuddin, also now known as the new Mrs George Clooney, is quickly cementing her position as a style icon, parading a gamut of glamorous outfits during her wedding celebrations in Italy.
While US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour skipped Paris fashion week to attend her nuptials to the Hollywood heart-throb, the British press are hailing her the new Kate Middleton thanks to her equally enviable figure, long glossy tresses and access to the world’s most desired designers.
Stylist to the stars, Lana Wilkinson, says Alamuddin has a much more daring approach to her wardrobe than the Duchess of Cambrige.
“Amal has a refreshing, savvy style and unlike Kate Middleton she isn’t afraid to take a few risks with pants suits and bold lipsticks, as she doesn’t have to contend with a conservative royal family and budgetary constraints.”
Wilkinson said that while Alamuddin’s style is expensive and aspirational, women can translate the newlywed’s enviable style to suit their own budget.
“Her style is very trend driven; it’s a lot of what we are seeing on the high street at the moment, but she knows what works for her; she knows her legs look great in short dresses and her hair looks better out and voluminous. Her confidence in what she wears is an enviable as the clothing.”
The pants suit
The Stella McCartney cream pants suit and wide brim hat with black accents that the lawyer chose for her civil ceremony almost overshadowed her extravagant Oscar de la Renta wedding gown.
