ABC journalist Jen Browning has spectacularly called out AFL WAG Rebecca Judd for complaining about her dirty swimming pool after a dust storm hit Melbourne.

Judd took to social media last week to document the recovery efforts at her $7.3 million Brighton home.

“We are slowly fighting back from the dust storm,” Judd, 36, said in an Instagram video. “I’ve had my pool guy over this morning.”

The former weather presenter is married to AFL star Chris Judd. Her posts were noted by ABC news reporter Browning, who is based in Dubbo and took to her own social media to call Judd out for her out of touch posts considering the ongoing drought and bushfire crisis affecting so many Australians.

“I’m sorry your pool got dirty @becjudd – at least you have a pool with water in it, try not having enough water to do anything but keep you & your animals alive – & how about considering what it’s like to face dust 10x what poor melbourne had at least 3-4 times per week,” Browning wrote on an Instagram story.

Browning continued after Judd shared images of her clean pool post dust storm.

“Update – Bec’s pool is clean!” Browning wrote on Twitter. “Maybe her pool boy could come backwash my house.”

Browning’s followers jokingly rallied in Judd’s defence.

“Bec 1 Nature 0 #FightingBack,” one wrote, another adding: “Bec’s resilience in the face of adversity is a true inspiration #becjudd”.

Another Twitter user also responded: “Incredible to see what one perceived as fighting back. Maybe she could swap houses with you for a month? And then talk about “fighting back” … the tears, frustration, heartbreak. She’s got no idea Jen.”

Judd did not respond to Confidential’s request for comment.
