Retired footy great Eddie Betts is joining Richmond star Jack Riewoldt in embracing the footy finals buzz.
“I haven’t really played that many finals but looking forward to seeing who wins knowing there’s different teams in there now,’’ Betts said.
“After 17 years of playing it’s exciting and a new chapter for myself.”
The gun forwards will be part of Fox Footy’s finals coverage with Riewoldt to co-host AFL360 with Gerard Whateley on Thursday nights.
He and Betts will also be part of the commentary team for the elimination final on Saturday between Sydney and GWS alongside Sarah Jones, David King and Leigh Montagna.
“This is as close a year as it’s ever been really,’’ Riewoldt said.
“There’s form lines all over the joint for sides to mount their case, anyone can win it.
“Inside the top four Melbourne and Port Adelaide are the two sides who have got a good run at it. I think Sydney are a good shot from outside the eight. They remind me a little bit of the 2017 premiership side we had with the young kids in there playing their role.”
