DUMPED duo David Schwarz and Mark Allen have exacted a small measure of radio revenge on SEN by doubling their listening audience, while 3AW extended its dominance in the breakfast timeslot.
The Macquarie Sport Radio drive team of Schwarz and Allen recorded low figures but doubled its audience from 0.4 to 0.9.
The pair was sacked last year during a shakeup at SEN when Croc Media took charge of the station.
SEN figures were steady, with a slight gain in Gerard Whateley’s morning show.
3AW’s brekfast pairing of Ross Stevenson and John Burns rose to a whopping 20 percent, well ahead of the ABC which slid 0.4 to 9.6 — continuing its downward trend since Red Symons’ sacking — while FOX FM was still the clear winner in the FM market.
FOX FM’s team of Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke held onto top spot with 9.4 percent, despite a drop from 10.3, to come in ahead of GOLD FM on 8.
Triple M’s Hot Breakfast was up 0.8 percent to 7.7 to come in equal third with smoothfm.
The big drop was Nova, with Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown, dropping 1.6 to 6.4 percent.
In the hotly contested drive slot, Triple M’s Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy dropped again in Melbourne but rose around the rest of the country. FOX FM’s Hughesy and Kate were still on top with 13.3.
It will be interesting to see if GOLD FM maintains its standing with new host Christian O’Connell starting on Monday this week.
It was a good result for GOLD, surpassing FOX FM as the most listened to FM radio station overall.
