Don't miss out on the headlines from Comedian Q&A. Followed categories will be added to My News.
What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?
Identical twins singing funny songs lashed with trademark sibling rivalry banter.
What have you been up to since last time you were here?
Since last year’s show we sold out our second Edinburgh Fringe Season and continued to tour the country.
BRITISH AND IRISH COMEDIANS TO SEE THIS YEAR
TOP COMICS REVEAL THEIR FAVOURITE COMEDIANS
Individually, Beej published a best-selling novel, and Jimmy also totally achieved some cool things but he can’t remember them right now …
Who should see your show, and why?
Frenetically paced, so-many-jokes-in-an-hour musical comedy that has seen us compared to Flight Of The Conchords and Tim Minchin.
Add to the mix our unique stage chemistry that can only come with performing alongside your identical twin brother — and our show is one of a kind.
What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?
Leave a gap. By that I mean — book dinner, book a show, but leave a gap for something exciting. For example, have dinner at 6pm, pre-book a show for 9.30pm, and then let the festival take you on a whim for a 7.30pm show.
This means you see what you’ve planned to, plus something new, unexpected and exciting, and overall have a great night out.
Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?
Luke Heggie will be on every comic’s list.
Flo & Joan are musical comedy sisters from the UK who are excellent.
Dilruk Jayasinha has a great show this year.
What do you love about Melbourne?
I like how every alley/laneway has something cool in it.
Melbourne always feels like something is happening.
The people there are lively and excited about arts and comedy, which I love.
Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?
Every musical comedy duo/trio in Australia because everyone knows how hard being a comedian is — the low pay, the long travel — add another cast member and the challenges multiply.
Any group that sticks it out is a true inspiration.
Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?
We’ve won awards and had good reviews — but that’s what Google is for.
If you like fast-paced hilarious songs, this is the show for you.
