What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Laughs. The audience gets to watch the initial footage of a B-Grade movie the audience have voted to see, then the rest of the movie is played out by hilarious comedians who will improvise the rest of the movie.

Impro Melbourne has the longest running show in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

It’s had a few names, but mostly its Late Night Impro.

It started back … way back with Russell Fletcher in the early 1990s.

He wanted a show where visiting comedian improvisers could come and jam together.

It was late at night (the only show at 11pm at the time) after their own shows were finished. It was fast, loose and wild.

Since then we’ve had dozens of guests from Australia and the world come to play in our last night comedy show.

Who should see your show, and why?

Ever had that feeling that the night is just too good to end here?

Many people come and see our show after a night in the city for comedy festival.

Comedy-Impro is fast, loose and dangerous.

The audience get to see comedian’s flying by the seat of their pants, with lightning fast reflexes.

The cast are made up of seasoned professionals who know how to entertain an audience.

The new movie element, with Foley is sure to be hilarious.

Ever wondered how they make a great punching sound?

Smacking a lettuce — who wouldn’t want to see someone repeatedly smacking a lettuce?

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Book early. Drink lots.

Comedians are funnier when you’ve had a few drinks.

Play comedian roulette — choose a show that you have never heard of or a comedian you’ve never seen.

You may just be surprised and delighted.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

Of course I’m looking forward to our castmates shows — Rik Brown’s Rocky the Third,

Jason Geary’s podcast live recording of How ’bout this and Spontaneous Broadway — hosted by Lliam Amor.

What I love about the comedy festival is checking out random shows.

I remember years ago going to a tiny venue to see a guy called David O’Dowerty.

There must have been six of us in the audience.

It was one of the funniest show we’d ever seen, so delightful

What are you expecting Melbourne to be like?

Oh, Melbourne will be cold-hot-raining-humid-sunny and windy all at the same time.

People will be running all over Melbourne like locusts trying to get into comedy shows.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

The Big Gig was one of the most exciting TV programs for me as a kid.

I remember watching this live show not quite believing what the comedians could get away with.

It was dangerous, exciting and bloody funny.

A nything else you want us to know about you or your show?

This is a bloody funny show, check us out!
