THE A-Z OF COMEDIAN Q&AS

YOUR GUIDE TO THE MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL

Tell us what you’ve been up to since last time you were here.

Only been doing comedy for a couple of years, but at 55 years old, I’m not wasting time.

Have done all the big rooms to great success and probably have always been a comedian, just never told anyone.

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

Our show will appeal from 18-65.

There’s no trendy Melb talk waffle, just great gags and stories well written and delivered.

Full entertainment at 6pm in the centre of the hub for $10.

What’s your No. 1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Don’t have preconceptions.

Just be ready for anything and try to find a few smaller shows to fit in, there’s a lot of very good new talent out there.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

Jonathon Schuster, cause he’s brilliant.

Chris Wainhouse, cause he’s brilliant.

Sass attack, Carla and Urvi are the future.

What stands out to you about Melbourne?

Heaps of available stage time.

Fantastic, supportive arts atmosphere.

Great food, and everything is so close and well organised

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

Monty Python, Dave Allen, Patrice O’Neal.

These people don’t take themselves too seriously and are great joke writers.

Comedy doesn’t have to be topical, relevant and edgy, it’s at its best when it’s silly, irreverent bulls--t.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

Great start to your comedy night, 6pm in a central location for $10 with a special guest every night.

Paul Sharplin, I got her Visa, she gave me Lupus, APRIL 9-20, The Tickle Pit at The Croft, 21 Croft Aly. BOOK TICKETS.
