An oldie but a goodie, Nick Capper lets his animal instinct take over.

What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Chances are you’ll leave confused, yet aroused. Most people leave the show asking themselves, ‘How does this man have such an extensive agricultural knowledge, and why am I so turned on?’ You can also expect some handy info if you’re in the market for an egg conveyor belt.

Tell us what you’ve been up to since last time you were here.

HOW TO GET MORE LAUGHS FOR YOUR MONEY

COMEDIANS WHO HAVE WON BIG INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

Since last MICF I’ve gigged in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand to incredulous audiences, made great headway with the podcast I do with friend and fellow comedian Mike Goldstein (The Phone Hacks — check it out this festival), and for the first time since childhood I now live in a house with windows. It’s been a big year.

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

If you like ladles, fetishes, agriculture, or you’re a sicko and enjoy a combination of all three, THIS IS THE SHOW FOR YOU.

What’s your No. 1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Bring the comedian a big roast dinner, but more importantly don’t stop yelling throughout the whole show to let us know how much you’re enjoying it.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

Ben Knight’s show Big Red, because he’s my flat mate and I want to see him bomb, but he probably won’t because he’s bloody good and I’m not that lucky.

Also Michael Williams, because his show is about the shooting in Las Vegas and I’m interested to see if he can pull off making that funny.

What stands out to you about the city and/or its people?

The people are very easy to pick pocket. There is absolutely no food or coffee in Melbourne, so be sure to pack lots of ham sandwiches and a big thermos of Moccona.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

The Mighty Boosh, because they had a unique voice and cool props.

Also, Russian dashcams...when will those crazy Russians learn how to drive.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

I am Australia’s oldest comedian.

Nick Capper, Pig in the City, MARCH 28-APRIL 21, GREEK CENTRE (ZEUS), 168 LONSDALE ST. BOOK TICKETS.
