What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Born Prepared is a very funny trip down memory lane for anyone who was a Brownie Guide in the 1980s (and there are way more of us out there than you think).

For anyone who wasn’t a Brownie back then, don’t worry, it’s still entertaining for you — like listening to the stories of cult survivors.

AUSSIE COMEDIANS TO SEE THIS YEAR

WHAT TO SEE IF YOU DON’T LIKE STAND-UP COMEDY

We sang songs in high-pitched children’s voices, we wore skivvies and pinafores, there were promises made, and ceremonies with mushrooms and owls involved … and that’s only the scratching the surface.

Tell us what you’ve been up to since last time you were here.

This show debuted at Melbourne Fringe last year and was nominated for Best Comedy.

Since last MICF in 2017 I’ve been travelling to Africa and Nepal, and blogging on my comedy travel blog www.jarrodwouldyougothere.com

Spruik it! Who should see your show, and why?

Definitely ex Brownies and ex Brown Owls. We had lots of them in at Fringe and they really loved it.

A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good deed every day.

Thinking of me and buying a ticket to my show would qualify you.

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Don’t just go and see people you know from television. By all means see them, but don’t restrict your comedy going to just them.

Read the guide cover to cover and take a punt on a few acts you haven’t seen whose shows resonate with you or pique your interest.
