THE A-Z OF COMEDIAN Q&AS

ULTIMATE 2019 MELBOURNE COMEDY FESTIVAL GUIDE

What have you been up to since last time you were here?

We were last at MICF in 2017.

Since then we’ve written this awesome new show called Game On 2.0.

We took it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it played to full crowds every day.

It was so much fun we thought we’d tour it around home, too.

Who should see your show, and why?

This show is written for kids aged 5 to 12 years who like playing games.

It’s also written for adults who wish they still had time to play games but don’t anymore because they had kids.

If you have ever heard of a little game called Fortnite you should definitely come and check out Game On 2.0.

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Go to the toilet before the show.

Nothing worse than crossed legs while laughing.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

As children’s performers we love The Listies and Mr SnotBottom.

Both can be counted on for grossness and good times.

As an adult I do enjoy getting out to see Georgie Carroll for some great storytelling and solid laughs.

Garry Starr is perfect for some brilliant physical clowning.

Lastly, Dr Professor Neal Portenza is surreal character-driven hilarity that seems to get better and better with every new show.

What do you love about Melbourne?

I grew up in Melbourne and it will always be home.

But it’s never more home than during the MICF.

The city comes alive and that buzz, particularly around the Town Hall on a busy night, is electric.
