What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Expect silly, outrageous and sexy fun from this award-winning, sparkle-puppy, pocket rocket comedy about life before Tinder … who knew landline phones could be so perverse?

Direct from an award-winning season in Adelaide by one of Australia’s finest and most original storytellers.

What have you been up to since last time you were here?

Since last MICF, I’ve continued to be everyone’s Festival Dad™; touring across Oz and internationally, doing shows and handing out vocal lozenges, validation, spreadsheets and caffeinated vegan protein bars wherever needed.

Who should see your show, and why?

Anyone who is interested in what hook-up culture was like post-disco but pre-internet.

Open-minded people who want to hear a fascinating story of straight people intertwined with silly queer non-love stories.

Sexually empowered women aged 22-52 and those who love them.

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Book ahead. See three in a night and bring a snack.

Why not; you’re already out.

And for personally tailored recommendations, keep an eye out for The Safety House Info Booth, popping up around Melbourne with the sole purpose of getting you to the shows you never knew you needed to see.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

All of the 80 shows in the Safety House Guide (safetyhouseguide.org), but if I had to choose only 10: Claire Healy, Clara Cupcakes, Woah, Alyssa!, PARTY GHOST, PickUp, Sweaty Pits, Taranoia, You Chose Poorly, Gillian English and Will Greenway.

What do you love about Melbourne?

I’m a Melburnian since birth, but I always dress like Danny DeVito going to a rave, so I suppose what stands out is the staring from everyone.

But your experience may vary if you don’t look like a broken disco ball and a pot plant gave birth to a drag queen.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

The moon, because a rising tide lifts all ships.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

Live performance should be for everyone.

Hit me up if you have barriers to entry, and I’ll work with you to find the best shows that will cater to your physical, emotional or other needs.

MICF is comedy Christmas and everyone should feel able to enjoy it.
