What can people expect from your show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival?

Our show is the only Greek-speaking show in the 2019 Festival, so first and foremost, expect Greek. If you don’t speak Greek, don’t come. It will be a really funny show, but only if you’re Greek.

NEWBIES AND RISING STARS TO WATCH

BRITISH AND IRISH COMEDIANS TO SEE THIS YEAR

What have you been up to since last time you were here?

I am totally new to the festival and super excited!

I am married and have two daughters, so coming to the festival for a week is going to be a dream escape. I might actually never go back to Greece.

Who should see your show, and why?

Comedy is like a language of its own. Your culture’s humour is something that you carry with you wherever you go, so I think this show is a must-see for all Greeks that want a good laugh while reminiscing about their homeland.

What’s your No.1 tip for people coming to see a show at the comedy festival?

Be open and let yourself be pleasantly surprised. And be Greek if you’re coming to our show.

Which other comedians/shows are you keen to see at this year’s festival, and why?

I would like to see everything! But since we won’t be staying in Melbourne very long, I would rather see exotic animals, like kangaroos.

What stands out to you about Melbourne and/or its people?

My main impressions of Australia are from the show Master Chef and documentaries about spiders and crocodiles, so I expect Melbourne to be a place where you enjoy amazing food while surrounded by dangerous animals.

Who or what is your comedic inspiration, and why?

The first stand up special I ever saw was Eddie Murphy’s Raw, but I was mainly inspired by Greek comedians such as Thanasis Veggos, Lakis Lazopoulos and Harry Klynn.

Anything else you want us to know about you or your show?

The show Michalis and I are bringing to the festival is a fairly clean show suitable for the entire family.

Our goal is to entertain the Greeks living there and to create a sense of community by the end of the show.

Also, if anyone wants us to bring some feta cheese or olive oil from Greece, let us know soon.
